Head of Sales
Why this role exists
Most people have no financial safety net. A delivery driver who can't work for three weeks. A freelancer sidelined by an injury. Someone laid off with a month of savings. The accident isn't what hurts. The paychecks stopping is.
We build insurance for that gap and put it inside the apps and platforms people already use every day. We underwrite it, price it and pay the claims ourselves. Most insurers skip this category because the policies are small and the customers aren't wealthy. That's why we do it.
We are growing fast and aiming to increase revenue tenfold. That growth will be won in the United States, and this role leads it. Our international footprint grows with our global clients, but your focus is here.
What you would own
The broker channel. This is the core of the job. You would build and run our broker and agency relationships in the US and turn them into steady, quality deal flow. The licenses and carrier paper are already in place. What we need is someone brokers already trust.
Direct enterprise clients. Platforms, banks, telcos and marketplaces that want protection built into their own product. You would open the conversation, work with our underwriting and product teams to shape the offer, and close the deal.
Sales leadership across the company. You would set up the pipeline discipline, tracking, forecasting and reporting that show everyone where revenue stands. That work outlasts any single deal, and most sales hires never get the mandate to do it properly.
The US team. We already sell, and we sell to serious partners. We don't have someone leading our most important market. You would run the US effort, hire as the revenue supports it, and have a company-wide Sales Operations person backing you from day one.
What we are looking for
Essential:
- Seven to ten years in insurance distribution, with a US broker network you built yourself
- A record of closing enterprise deals and hitting a number you were accountable for
- The judgment to lead a function instead of just working a territory. The US channel is yours to shape, and the standard you set will carry across the business.
Helpful, and learnable if you have the essentials:
- Embedded or affinity insurance experience
- Exposure to accident and health or income protection
- Time at a company small enough that you saw how the whole business fits together
If you meet the three essentials and only some of the rest, we still want to hear from you. We are hiring for judgment and relationships, not a checklist.
What we are offering
- Base salary of $150,000 to $200,000, depending on experience
- An annual bonus of up to 50% of salary, tied to growth through the broker channel and to how well you build sales tracking and management across the company
- A percentage of revenue from new direct clients you bring in each year, paid annually
We published the range because we would rather you know it up front than have to negotiate for it.
How we work
This role is fully remote. Not hybrid, and not remote with strings attached. Live anywhere in the United States.
You would travel the US to meet brokers and clients, and occasionally go abroad to work with the wider team and represent us at industry events. The travel is real, and it follows the business instead of a presence policy.
You would report directly to the CEO. We are small, and the CFO, Chief Underwriting Officer and COO are all reachable within a day, not a quarter. Decisions get made in conversation, not in committee.
We are backed by A+ rated security, licensed for surplus lines and property and casualty in all fifty states, and SOC 2 Type II audited. That last one matters more than it sounds. It is why large global platforms are comfortable putting us inside their customer experience.
The honest version
This is the senior sales seat in our most important market. The company already sells and already has programs with partners most insurers would love to have. What it lacks is one person who owns the US broker channel and sets the standard for how the whole company sells.
That makes it two jobs: carry a number in the US and raise the sales discipline everywhere. You get real autonomy on both. You would be building something instead of inheriting it, which is more interesting and less comfortable.
If you have spent seven or eight years earning the kind of relationships that take that long, this is where they pay off.
Years of experience
- more than 10 years of experience
Salary range
- $150,000 - $200,000 per year
