Capitol Benefits is an independently owned insurance advisory in Gaithersburg, Maryland. We have been independent since 2007, we look after more than 5,600 clients across 16 states, and we hire people who want to build a career here rather than pass through.

In practice that looks like account managers who answer their own phones and know clients by name, advisors who are mentioned by first name in client reviews, and teammates who stay. What we are not

Almost every mid-size broker in the DC metro has been acquired by private equity. Account teams started rotating and the personnel got squeezed out. We stayed independent on purpose. No private equity playbook, no shuffling accounts, no call center.
