The Role at a Glance

As a Sr Associate, Software Engineering, you will develop, enhance, and support applications across a diverse technology landscape. Your work will combine planned project delivery with troubleshooting and production support, and assignments may shift as business and system needs change. You will build expertise across several applications, communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders, and use sound engineering practices to deliver dependable results.

What you'll be doing

Provide hands-on development and production support for applications across multiple systems or technology platforms.
Analyze incidents, application behavior, data, and system dependencies to diagnose issues and restore service in a timely manner.
Develop, test, and implement software changes, integrations, data fixes, and application enhancements using approved engineering standards.
Balance project assignments, maintenance work, and unplanned support needs while keeping partners informed of status and risks.
Ask effective questions, gather information from technical and business partners, and document findings and decisions clearly.
Learn the business domain, application architecture, data flows, and operational processes needed to support assigned systems.
Participate in requirements, design, testing, implementation, and post-deployment validation activities.
Maintain documentation, runbooks, support procedures, and knowledge articles that improve team readiness and reduce repeat issues.
Identify recurring problems and recommend improvements to code, data quality, system processes, monitoring, or team practices.
Collaborate within a team environment while independently organizing work and following through on commitments.

What we're looking for

1-3+ years of direct experience with developing, enhancing, testing, or supporting software applications.
Working knowledge of software development lifecycle practices, source control, testing, debugging, and production support.
Strong critical thinking, organization, communication, and relationship-management skills.
Ability to learn new technologies quickly, manage changing priorities, and work effectively across multiple applications or technology environments.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Programming Languages & Frameworks: Java, Spring Boot, ReactJS, TypeScript, Python (optional), AngularJS (optional, as it is not part of the go-forward architecture)
Cloud Services: AWS (required)
DevOps / CI/CD Tools: GitLab CI/CD, or comparable source control and deployment tools
Databases: Oracle, AWS RDS, DynamoDB

The pay range for this position is $75,000 - $120,000 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
