In this role, you will be tasked with demonstrating the MEC claims value prop to MEC customers. The Client Consult Manager will be responsible for proactively managing relationships with MEC active clients through in person or online meetings to discuss, explain and demonstrate the MEC claims' value proposition.
This role is a single point of contact for MEC's active clients to facilitate MEC's claim loss mitigation strategy sessions (known as Client Consults) with MEC's multidisciplinary team of claim analysts, attorneys, Chief Medical Officer, and Medical Management Consultants (NCMs), the customers claim handlers, and other stakeholders. Strong communication, influence and prior Workers Compensation claim handling skills are required in order to demonstrate and share MEC's complex claim handling best practices, including providing insights and expertise, and collaborating with all stakeholders in identifying loss mitigation and settlement solutions to these complex claims.
Be a resource the MEC active clients, their associates, and the TPA who service them.
Key functions include but are not limited to:
Client Consults
- Identify claims that are appropriate for client consults.
- Engage our customers and their TPAs in claim consult roundtables to collaboratively identify and implement loss mitigation and settlement strategies on identified claims.
- Educate and ensure customers and their TPAs understand how MEC services and products can mitigate their claim losses.
- Engage in proactive communication with the MEC's Account Executives, Underwriters, and Claims Analyst to ensure MEC maximizes the execution of the MEC Claims Value Prop and to ensure seamless interaction with MEC customers and TPAs.
- Interact and communicate with internal and external parties to identify opportunities for Client Consults.
- Provide informational updates internally and externally pertaining to loss mitigation and settlement successes achieved through MEC's Client Consult process, roundtable discussions, webinars and other customer interactions.
Business Acumen
- Conduct customer meetings as a way to build credibility and understanding of MEC's Claims Value Proposition.
- Develop and demonstrate knowledge and utilization of MEC's complex claim handlings expertise and services.
- Develop an understanding and be capable of effectively communicating MEC's claims handling approach and data capabilities.
- Effectively engage and collaborate with the multiple TPAs and develop an understanding of how they operate.
Strategic Planning
- Encourage MEC clients (and their TPAs) to seek MEC's consultative assistance on complex claims.
- Share MEC claims' intervention success stories, and industry information to demonstrate MEC value to MEC's stakeholders.
- Leverage relationships with TPAs and Customers to support MEC's data strategy.
TPA Relationship Management
- Interact and develop relationships with Third Party Administrators (TPAs) at a senior/executive management level.
- Utilize consultative approach to sell TPA's on the value of MEC services.
- Lead, manage and educate TPAs on MEC's electronic data exchange.
- Interact and assist TPAs in integrating MEC analytics into their claim handling process.
- Communicate on a consistent basis with all internal departments to promote understanding of the TPA's business model.
- Introduce Service/Partnership Agreement to TPA's as reference and guide for TPA's to utilize in understanding MEC's claim handling requirements and our Preferred Vendor network.
- Engage TPA management as problems develop in business processes or on an individual claim.
What we require:

- Minimum of 5 years of workers' compensation claims handling experience
- Working knowledge of workers' compensation regulations and applicable laws.

- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Including but not limited to industry conferences, broker meetings, In person customer meetings.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years of workers' compensation indemnity claims handling
