Job Details
Under the direction of the Director of Compliance, oversees and coordinates all operational compliance issues for the region assigned. This includes but is not limited to, involvement with professional licensing requirements, periodic reporting and filing requirements, inquiries or other correspondence from government entities or accreditation bodies, and external audits of clients’ claims operations.
Workers Compensation Compliance Manager Responsibilities
- Provides recommendations to branch management concerning compliance and regulatory issues.
- Monitors compliance with state regulations regarding timely reporting and handling of required claims transactions.
- Assists with or prepares, as appropriate, required periodic reporting to governmental or accreditation entities.
- Reviews and approves all branch responses to governmental or accreditation entities.
- Maintains current knowledge of all State Insurance Department, State Workers Compensation, or
- State Departments of Labor laws and regulations.
- Conducts periodic compliance reviews/audits of branch offices.
Experience
- At least 5 years of related work experience in a property and casualty insurance company or a claims-related environment
- Proven knowledge of insurance concepts, principles, and practices, as well as the application of laws and regulations.
- Ability to analyze insurance laws and regulations to ensure compliance with same.
- Ability to devise and recommend solutions to compliance problems.
Requirements
- 7 years experience as a Nevada experienced workers’ compensation claim professional.
- 3 years experience as a workers’ compensation team manager/compliance manager.
Education
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, insurance, or pre-law or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPCU designation preferred.
