Description
The UNREPPED Bodily Injury Claims Specialist will manage, investigate, and resolve Bodily Injury & Property Damage claims assigned as well as assisting in providing service to policyholders. The Claims Specialist works within a Claims Team, using the latest technology to manage an assigned caseload of routine to moderately complex claims from the investigation of the claim through resolution. The role interacts with claimants, policyholders, and appraisers. The position offers training developed with an emphasis on enhancing skills needed to help provide exceptional service to our customers and claimants.
You will be required to go into the office twice a week if you reside within 50 miles of the Plano, TX office. Please note this policy is subject to change.
Responsibilities:
- Manages investigates and resolves unrepresented Bodily Injury & Property Damage claims. Investigates and evaluates coverage, liability, damages, and settles claims within prescribed authority levels.
- Responsible for providing excellent service and responsiveness to GRS customers
- Identifies potential suspicious claims and refers to SIU and identifies opportunities for third party subrogation.
- Communicates with policyholders, witnesses, and claimants in order to gather information regarding claims.
- Refers tasks to auxiliary resources as necessary and advise as to proper course of action.
- Responds to various written and telephone inquiries including status reports.
- Ensures adequacy of reserves.
- Accountable for security of financial processing of claims as well as security information contained in claims files.
- Makes effective use of loss management techniques. Negotiates settlements with claimants.
- Updates files and provides comprehensive reports as required.
- Ultimately responsible for identifying opportunities to provide empathy to claimant and expeditiously look to resolve claims within provided authority level.
- Proven interpersonal, analytical and negotiation abilities required.
- Ability to provide information in a clear, concise manner, ability to build effective relationships.
- Bachelor`s degree or equivalent in addition to 1-year claims handling experience. Knowledge of legal liability, insurance coverage and medical terminology preferred.
- Licensing may be required in some states.
