Job Details

As a Capture Center Specialist, you will be responsible for the quality and pre-processing of invoices and medical bills for our external customers and for our parent company, CorVel. Depending on the department, this processing might include retrieval, receiving, and preparing customer mail for scan; scanning documents on high speed scanners; performing quality checks including some data entry on the data record associated with documents; interacting with electronic documents in line with our product line expectations; ensuring our final processed work is delivered successfully to our customers' systems; and/or making outbound phone calls to medical providers' front desks to perform provider demographics verifications.

This is an in-office position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completes high volumes of work in a production environment while meeting quality, productivity, and timeliness standards.
  • Follows clearly established and defined procedures and escalates for higher review as appropriate.
  • Operates, maintains, and escalates needs regarding the hardware and software associated with the position in line with safety and productivity expectations.
  • Escalates timely any workload needs, to support team level business commitments.
  • Prioritize work effectively to assure maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Support job documentation to assure they are current and accurate for use by all team members. Actively collaborate with coworkers and leadership regarding any discrepancies.
  • Pre-processing of customer's documents; may include any of the following pieces of the process: retrieval, receiving, physical paper preparation, scanning, separating images into document setts, classifying documents into document types, performing quality assurance or direct keying of data from images, interacting with electronic document information based on documented business rules, and assuring delivery of the final pre-processed electronic document set to the customer.
  • Additional duties as assigned

  • Effective, clear, consistent, and professional communication to team members, supervisors and other parties. Includes verbal and written skills, and appropriate selection of mode of communication - for example IM, email, phone, or in person - based on the situation.
  • Work independently within the context of a team environment and approach to ownership of our customers' needs.
  • High attention to detail, catching errors and reporting them in our feedback databases for process improvement.
  • Demonstrate responsible work habits including maintaining consistent work hours, punctuality, communication with leadership and the team.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding company business and product information and manages sensitive information appropriately in line with HIPAA and other sensitive data regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Learning agility: able to learn, adapt, unlearn, and relearn to keep up with changing conditions

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Basic experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel required; intermediate experience preferred.
    • Touch typing 30 wpm required; 55 wpm preferred.
    • For Document Control department: valid driver's license and clear DMV background check.
    • For Intracompany Services department: comfort making regular outbound business phone calls to administrative professionals for provider demographics verification.
    • For Onsite positions: able to lift boxes up to 30 lbs repetitively and safely.
    • For Remote positions: stable and high speed internet connection, and must maintain Best Practices and Handbook Policy regarding security. Remote employees must report to company site whenever requested.

    PAY RANGE:

    CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.

    For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

    Pay Range: $14.70 - $22.36 per hour
