Concierge Broker Advocate
Emry Health is a healthcare-navigation services firm, helping employers, employees, and private families navigate the complexities of healthcare. From consulting on health insurance selection to assisting with medical billing and health insurance interactions, we provide expert “healthcare navigation” for our clients.
Our services include Healthcare Advocacy programs where we assist clients, in a consultative manner, by evaluating, managing and resolving health insurance and medical billing challenges. We are hiring experienced Healthcare Advocates to manage our clients’ healthcare navigation requirements and advise them on reducing the cost and complexity of healthcare.
For this role, there is an emphasis on health insurance broker background and experience needed.
Position Description:
Our Concierge Broker Advocates are advisors who combine experience in health insurance and medical billing with business skills and a passion for strong customer service. The Advocate’s goal is to simplify healthcare for our clients, helping them save time and money. Advocates work for a dedicated set of high-net-worth private families and corporate executive clients by managing their insurance carrier and health provider interactions. Advocates consultatively evaluate and select health insurance coverage for clients. On an ongoing basis, Advocates manage health insurance, medical billing, claims, Rx and healthcare navigation issues helping clients realize more value from healthcare.
Responsibilities Include:
- Health insurance broker focused on private insurance, Medicare and small company.
- Understanding insurance requirements and selecting individual health insurance benefits
- Providing ongoing guidance for clients to help them navigate healthcare and make better decisions
- Experience working with clients to resolve billing claims issues with insurers and providers
- Building ongoing advisory relationships with clients and their assistants
- Reviewing and analyzing bills and insurance EOBs for issues and assisting in resolution
- Researching and resolving coverage, billing and Rx issues with insurance carriers and providers
- Filing claims for clients and tracking ongoing billing activity in proprietary software
- Assisting with treatment pre-authorization and insurance carrier appeals for coverage
- Providing world-class, proactive client service, including updating clients on progress and outcomes
Qualifications:
- Requirement – Health insurance producer license and/or Medicare certification, with experience.
- Ideal position for: healthcare / insurance advocate, account manager for insurance broker, billing/revenue cycle manager for provider groups, client service manager for health insurer
- Experience with employee benefits, health insurance, medical billing and claims
- Professional, consultative, passion for strong client service, self-directed
- Organized, analytical, strong attention to detail, creative problem solver
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to explain and advise clients
- Able to influence and negotiate with providers and insurers to achieve desired outcomes
- Nice to have - Medical billing/coding certification
- Capable with online applications, strong Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel skills
- Education/experience: College degree and 5+ years directly related work experience
- Preferred - Commutable to Wyckoff, New Jersey corporate office (30 minutes from NYC), open to remote for right candidate.
- Full time; however part-time and consultants will be considered.

This position requires someone who is self-motivated to work hard for our clients every day, solving their healthcare administration problems.
