Transportation Underwriter / Broker

About the Role

Leading wholesale insurance broker and underwriting manager. Offer a wide range of comprehensive solutions for retail insurance brokers and agents. They seek someone who is both a strong underwriter and a good people (sales/marketing) person… which is what their Underwriter/Broker roles are all about.

They have a good-sized Transportation unit based out of Texas, however Underwriter/Brokers can be anywhere in the U.S. Their Transportation markets are all across the board, so they let their Transportation Underwriter/Brokers focus on the type of business they are comfortable with.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and grow a book of transportation business
• Manage agency relationships and serve as lead client contact
• Create and execute marketing plan to increase new and renewal business
• Rate, quote and bind each risk to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing for large or complex renewals as well as new business
• Monitor key metrics

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of transportation underwriting or brokerage experience required, excess & surplus experience preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing

Compensation, Benefits, & Perks

$110k. The real money is made via the bonus plan. Every 6 months brokers earn a bonus… and the ones who do well make a boatload of money. Bonus is based off the growth of the book (income). Competitive benefits.
