Claims Support Technician

The Claims Support Technician will become part of a dedicated claims team focusing on a variety of claims support functions.  Responsible for incoming and outgoing mail/faxes, setting up new reports, keying in payments, making electronic file copies, answering the telephone and check processing. This position is required to be in the office 5 days a week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Cultivating relationships with claims and other internal staff, policyholders and agents.
• Responsible for document preparation and keying payments for Workers’ Compensation and/or No Fault claims.
• Responsible for opening, date stamping, identifying and distributing all incoming Claims mail according to the set guidelines.
• Assist in answering incoming calls to include taking first reports of loss, answering simple questions, directing calls to the proper party and/or taking messages.
• Responsible for the setup of new claims as instructed in both WINS and ImageRight. Ensure that all coding is accurate and complete.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Qualified candidates will have be a High School graduate, GED or equivalent work experience.
• Customer service skills.
• 1 year previous office experience preferred.
• The ability to type 35-40 wpm.
• Prior computer experience to include Word and Excel.
