Job Details

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Support management activities for project management; aid in prioritizing projects and maintain project portfolio for the department.
• Develop management reports to monitor AIPSO's Proposal Delivery process.
• Assist management with knowledge management and coordinate training as needed.
• Prepare issue analysis, proposals, applications and other plan related forms, exhibits, presentations and information releases.
• Provide consultation and training to other departments and regional offices as needed.
• Respond to inquiries from Insurance Departments, AIPSO subscribers and State Plans, as appropriate.
• Assist the staff representative to the Residual Market Committee (RMC) and Commercial Automobile Committee (CAC).
• Attend and assist in conducting RMC and CAC regular Task Force and work group meetings and prepare agendas, minutes and related exhibits as needed.
• May draft Uniform Plan amendments and maintain Uniform Plan documents.
• May draft state-specific versions of the Uniform Plan amendments. 
• Participate in AIPSO Orientation Programs for Board Members, Technical Committee Members, Governing Committee Members, Subscribers, Plans, Trade Associations, etc.

Education:

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university with supplementary insurance education preferred.  Additional appropriate experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience:

3 or more years of insurance experience. 2 or more years of experience dealing with automobile insurance.  Experience working in a committee-driven organization preferred.

Skills & Knowledge:

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, workflow diagrams, and project management software, preferable Microsoft Project).
• Effective problem-solving skills, including ability to analyze complex issues, find the root cause of the problem, and consider a wide-range of alternatives before acting.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or individuals.
• Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility while maintaining attention to detail.
• Demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and interact professionally and effectively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of residual market automobile insurance plans rules/regulations preferred.
• Project management certification or equivalent knowledge preferred.
• Insurance designations such as CPCU, CIC, ARM, AINS or equivalents preferred; 
demonstrate commitment to ongoing insurance education.
