Position Summary:

You will use your great customer service and emotional intelligence skills to assist clients in their time of need, by providing quality claims management, and follow-up and advocacy for property & casualty.

Job Duties:

  • Work collaboratively and cooperatively with others, with a commitment to a workplace of dignity and respect, in compliance with equal employment opportunity standards and regulations.
  • Accept direction and coaching from supervisors and managers, in compliance with the Agency's policies and procedures.
  • Prepare insurance claim forms, reports or related documents and review them for completeness.
  • Post or attach information to claim file.
  • Contact insured or other involved persons to obtain missing information.
  • Organize or work with agency management system or carrier claims systems to input, access, search or retrieve data.
  • Provide customer service, such as instructions on proceeding with claims.
  • Serve as a technical resource for commercial lines department and clients.
  • Develop expertise in risk services technology platforms.
  • Follow agency policies and procedures for the claims advocacy program including monitoring, follow-up and reserve review; collaborating with clients, adjusters, and attorneys for optimal results.
  • Participate in claims review meetings.
  • Create and maintain carrier relationships.
  • Provide claims analysis.
  • Retrieve carrier loss runs and prepare loss summary reports.
  • Assist with preparation of loss sensitive proposals.
  • Assist with monitoring loss sensitive plans.
  • Keep producers informed regarding claims activity.
  • Assist with completion of Service Plan and Stewardship Report.
  • Assist with special projects for Risk Services Team.
  • Coordinate claims initiatives with loss control and other agency personnel.
  • Keep Agency Executives posted regarding potential E&O Claims and assist with claims handling process when this occurs.
  • Maintain electronic and/or paper files in an orderly, up-to-date manner.
  • Monitor personal continuing education requirements to ensure compliance with licensing requirements.  Attend classes as necessary.
  • Participate in self-study or formal classes to continue self-improvement.  Attend training conference and seminars as directed.
  • Be familiar with and follow Agency guidelines, policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Florida all Lines Adjuster 6-20 or 2-20 Property & Casualty License;
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited school; three to five years workers’ compensation claims related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • AIC or other insurance designation preferred;
  • Risk management experience preferred;
  • Working knowledge of general liability, automobile, property and workers' compensation coverages;
  • Ability to build rapport with each customer through active listening;
  • Experience dealing the multiple insurance carriers;
  • Knowledge of Applied "EPIC" Agency Management System beneficial;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Strong written & oral communication skills;
  • Organizational & time management skills;
  • Dependable;
  • Team Player.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. The overall noise level in the work environment ranges from low to moderate.
