The Business Lines Rate and Profitability team is responsible for maintaining business lines products by implementing rating changes to support continued profitability and growth. We are looking to hire a Manager, Product Analysis to support the planning, analysis, strategy, and implementation of business lines rate revisions, as well as onboard, train, and develop a team of 2-5 product analysts.  In this role, the analysts under your supervision will own product changes for business lines products from initial scoping and scheduling through filing and implementation. You will attend meetings with business stakeholders, solicit feedback about team performance and process, and support continuous improvement projects as we strive develop best-in-class processes. Read on to learn about job responsibilities, qualifications, and benefits.

In this role you will:

  • Manage a team of 2-5 analysts who are responsible for independently owning low to moderate complexity rate revisions
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of various projects and pricing initiatives for assigned lines of business
  • Monitor timeliness and quality of product changes and step in to clarify expectations or course-correct as appropriate
  • When needed, will step in as an individual contributor to own certain product changes
  • Support or perform high complexity analysis under minimal direction.  
  • Query data to conduct ad hoc analysis of metrics and answer advanced business questions. 
  • Independently lead workstream(s) with deep cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful current and future product changes, data and processes are best in class; while also managing direct reports who own workstream(s)
  • Drive analysis and provide recommendations on short to medium-term projects
  • Communicate updates cross-functionally and to Product leadership
  • Summarize findings and provide actionable recommendations.



The ideal candidate will have:


  • 5+ years of relevant experience in insurance product management
  • Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience directly managing others beneficial, but not required
  • Experience indirectly managing others required
  • Deep knowledge of data sources, rate modeling best practices, and the business
  • Highly developed quantitative analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis software (e.g., SAS).
  • Strong Project Management skills (planning, timeline management, gaining buy-in, organization, contingency planning, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and ability to influence
  • Knows policy contracts, forms, and product pricing as well as how state regulations impact the business
  • MBA or advanced degree in quantitative field preferred but not required


Additional responsibilities may include: 


  • Manage offshore contractor relationships and work products, including scheduling and optimization
  • Lead the development or enhancement of analytic tools (i.e. databases, complex excel files, SQL code, processes, and process documentation).
  • Develop and leverages analytic tools needed to evaluate and adapt countrywide initiatives to meet local market needs.


  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or other quantitative field Minimum 4 years, typically 6 years or more relevant work experience
  • Master's degree beneficial
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis software (eg, SAS, Access)
  • Must have good planning, organization, analytical, decision-making and communication skills
  • Experience directly managing others beneficial
  • Deep knowledge of data sources, tools, and the business (auto and home line of business and systems used)
  • Deep knowledge of VBA/SQL, Excel, Access, Data Cubes
  • Knows policy contracts, forms, and product pricing as well as how state regulations impact the business
