Exciting new opportunity for a Director, Financial Analysis & Enterprise Risk Management to lead the management and execution of the enterprise risk management and financial modeling functions across ICW. This key role will report directly to the CFO and lead a team of analysts.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Develops and leads the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program.

  • Designs and leads the continued evolution of the ERM program, which includes risk identification, monitoring and mitigating procedures.
  • Performs internal capital modeling, including capital adequacy ratio process with rating agency partners.
  • Manages ERM regulatory reporting including, but not limited to, Own Risk & Solvency Assessment (ORSA), climate related financial disclosures and environment, social & governance (ESG).
  • Acts as key member of the Enterprise Risk Management Committee and provides communication to the Audit Committee and Board of Directors.

Manages the annual review of business impact analysis and business continuity planning.

  • Partners with functional leads to provide business continuity guidance and structure.
  • Supports the effective identification, planning, and response to events that could impact business operations.
  • Maintains effective planning and thorough documentation for all aspects of Business Continuity and Disaster Preparedness.

Leads the financial planning and analysis cycle.

  • Manages analysts responsible for cyclical forecasting and annual budget process utilizing Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Partners with business leaders to support the evaluation of financial plans through variance analysis and scenario planning. Provides benefit monitoring and readouts to key projects.
  • Interprets the key drivers of expense drivers and variances in order to provide insightful reporting and analysis to drive action.

Develops and leads a team of analysts in the Finance department.

  • Provides strategic direction to a team of analysts. Communicates Mission, Values, and other organization operating principles to direct and indirect reports.
  • Ensures that the entire department is engaged and that leadership practices in the department encourage development, recognition, and retention.
  • Leads the analyst team in enterprise risk management and financial modeling functions. Recruits, onboards, manages, and retains resources through effective coaching/performance management and employee engagement.
  • Oversees the performance management and development process for the department and performs performance management duties, development planning, and coaching for direct reports.
  • Ensures data quality, adherence to company security guidelines, profitability and other risk-related metrics for self and members of the team.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages the analysts within the Finance department and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • These responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; conducting performance and salary reviews; coaching, mentoring, and developing team members to further their skills and knowledge; creating and monitoring development plans; setting performance expectations/goals; forecasting staffing needs and planning for peak times and absences.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university required with a preferred major or emphasis in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience required, preferred experience in insurance, consulting, banking, or regulatory industries.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a managerial role.
  • Prior responsibility and/or exposure to ERM frameworks (e.g., COSO), financial or capital modeling.
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Highly developed written oral and presentation skills, and ability to effectively interact with management, employees, regulators, and external auditors.
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies and ability to plan, coordinate and supervise employees, and all aspects of the accounting systems.
  • Self-motivated, strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
