This position is full-time and is located in Arlington, Virginia and will report to the Vice President, Member Services.  

 

Core Working Hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

 

Position Summary:

The primary role of the Junior Customer Service Specialist is to Manage the Association’s telephone and voice mail system by transferring calls and taking messages accurately, efficiently and courteously.  Provide administrative support to the Member Services team by filing and handling of incoming and outgoing faxes.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Association’s front desk during assigned working hours by answering phone and greeting all visitors in a courteous, cheerful and professional manner; issue and collect identification badges as visitors sign in/out.
  • Provide Administrative support to the Customer Service Team by handling of incoming and outgoing faxes; assist with digitalization of files and mail.
  • Deliver extraordinary client experience by demonstrating attentiveness to the needs of the Members.
  • Create and develop scripts and FAQ’s relating to various inquiries to better serve our members and prospective members; and determine the nature of the call and direct the caller to the appropriate individual or department.
  • Provide general information about the Association (history, products, services offered, directions, access information for visitors, etc.) to members or prospective members by telephone or walk-in inquires.
  • Provide security by managing the visitor’s log-in and lobby area lock-down procedure; report suspicious activity to supervisor immediately.
  • Complete Ad hoc projects; prioritize and manage multiple initiatives or projects simultaneously, and follow through in a timely manner.
  • Successfully function within a team environment and actively participate in achieving team goals.
  • Participate in the cross-training of all duties, in order to ensure proper continuity of operations and coverage of operational functions at all times.
  • A demonstrated ability to learn and continuously develop industry knowledge and best practices and by gaining knowledge of all Navy Mutual products and served provided to Members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree and/or 1-2 years of experience with telephone console or multiline telephone support in a professional office environment.  Customer service skills, data entry and organizational skills are required.  Must possess excellent attention to detail.  A demonstrated ability to multitask while working independently under pressure.  MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) experience is a must.
