Our Product Technology Solutions group within Global Retail Markets is seeking a Consultant of Product Research to join their growing and highly visible group.  

 

The Global Retail Markets Product Technology Solutions team leads management and development of end-to-end technology solutions, technology and vendor pipeline management, testing, prototyping, and scaling of solutions or services to meet evolving customer needs and marketplace trends. In addition, we manage the $600M+ Product Management budget with ambitious goals to drive down overall expense. Our mission is to help provide superior capabilities to power best in class customer experience while becoming laser efficient on expenses to compete as our industry evolves in the digital world.  

 

The Analyst position is a hands-on role that will be heavily involved with a top priority of Global Retail Markets  supporting our telematics and mobility product data capabilities.  With a number of mobility and telematics products already in market and the portfolio expanding, this role will be responsible for performing advanced analytics, developing data-driven insights, and helping to elevate and enhance our telematics and mobility data sets to support in market products and new product opportunities. 

 

The role will report to the Director of our Mobility Data Factory within Liberty's Product Technology Solutions team.

 

You  

  • Have experience with technical analysis and insights
  • Have experience writing basic to moderate complexity SQL queries (Python experience preferred) and can manipulate data in Excel and clearly present findings in PowerPoint.
  • Have familiarity working with data sources, tools, statistical principles, and methodologies.
  • Can identify themes and trends from large, complex data sets.
  • Are a strong communicator (verbally, writing, presentations), plan and organize work, work effectively and collaborate with others.
  • Excel in ambiguous situations and can solve problems with creative thinking 

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Perform analyses; analyze trends and develop tactical and strategic recommendations that drive product decisions and/or initiatives.
  • Own the creation and publication of telematics reporting resources, highlighting important findings and takeaways and sharing with senior leadership.
  • Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver data-driven recommendations.
  • Develop & deliver presentations to communicate technical ideas and analytical findings to non-technical peers and stakeholders, including leadership.
  • Independently manage projects of varying complexity; serve as an embedded team member on larger or more complex projects.
  • Research, develop, and implement process improvements; consult on complex business issues and design considerations.

 

The qualified individual can work in Boston, Seattle, or remotely.  

*This is a Grade 12-13 range posting and will be determined by the Hiring Manager based on individual experience level*

 

 

Additional responsibilties may include:

  • Conducts moderate complexity analysis under general direction.
  • Sets up and runs advanced loss and demand models with support from experienced analysts.
  • Queries data to conduct ad hoc analysis of metrics.
  • Builds simple tools and queries for others to use.
  • Performs the underlying analysis on projects important to the SBU.
  • Provides recommendations on the appropriate tools and techniques to perform analysis.
  • Leads own workstreams on medium to long-term or moderate to high complexity projects.
  • May manage aspects of low to moderate complexity projects including members within and outside team.
  • Conducts competitive intelligence and understands market trends for a product line Monitors and interprets developments.
  • Serves as ad hoc resource for less experienced analysts. Occasionally mentors' others as requested.
  • May, with limited supervision, conduct analysis to evaluate and implement vendor products. May interacts with vendors as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics, statistics, or other quantitative field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in data analysis or product management.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software packages such as SAS, SQL, and PowerBI. Experience with Python and Snowflake is a plus.
  • Must have strong planning, organizational, analytical, decision making and communication skills.
