Nature of Job

Coordinate and perform/oversee state policy and rate filing activity and ensure the company's compliance with state regulations. Responsible for monitoring bureau (ISO, AAIS, NCCI, etc.) changes for rates, rules and forms, as well as, other product related regulatory requirements; collaborates with the Product Manager for analysis and implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monitoring state policy form and rate regulations, bureau filings and other product related regulatory requirements. Collaborates with Product Manager to provide analysis and impact.
  • Analyzes, implements and communicates mandatory changes filed by rating bureaus.
  • Coordinates changes to company applications and supplements.
  • Interprets rules and regulations in SERFF, bureau circulars and manuals.
  • Assists Product Manager in developing policy language for company specific forms to comply with state statutes, bureau filings, etc.
  • Coordinates filing process.
  • Updates/maintains company specific exception pages for each line of business
  • Prepares filing materials including check lists and transmittal forms
  • Uses SERFF to file rate/rule/form filings
  • Oversees responses to objections and requests for extensions
  • Coordinates and documents all activities related to filings
  • Updates company specific manuals
  • Maintains and updates users for rating bureau access.
  • Reviews ACORD form changes and makes appropriate updates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the VP of Product Development.

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred; CPCU and/or ARC (Associate in Regulation & Compliance) designation is strongly preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Minimum of three years' experience in Property and Casualty insurance underwriting or compliance; experience in Workers Comp is a bonus.
  • Knowledge of property and casualty coverages, rates, rules and forms.
  • Ability to research and analyze complex subject matter.
  • Familiar with multiple writing companies is a bonus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in office suite (MS OfficePro: Word, Excel), database management, email and scheduling; ability to learn company computer systems.
