Western National is excited to be looking to add an energetic individual that can assist underwriting in profitable premium growth through policy processing and technical support for both new and renewal business.  This position will operate under a designated level of authority while creating strong agency relationships.

This role will allow someone with a strong background or interest in Property/Casualty Insurance to grow with a great team as they support our Underwriters and Agents.


  • Assist underwriters in the daily underwriting and processing of new and renewal business, endorsements and premium audit transactions.
  • Use established practices, processes and procedures to renew and write new policies based on underwriting authority level.
  • Make decisions and recommendations for varied situations, while applying judgement to interpret related information, policies and procedures.
  • Apply knowledge to help solve problems of relatively limited scope and complexity.
  • Communicate with assigned agencies and underwriters creating and delivering varied types of messages and information.


  • Bachelor degree in Insurance or Finance or equivalent related experience, AU and/or INS certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry practices, standards and underwriting concepts.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to multitask and solve basic problems.
  • Negotiation and relationship building skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Time management/ability to meet deadlines.
