P&C UW Business Analyst II

American National is seeking a P&C UW Business Analyst II. This position conducts thorough quality assurance audits of the P&C Underwriting work product. This position also performs targeted reviews on specific activities within P&C Underwriting or specifically as needed for leadership decision-making reporting on their observations and analyses. This person will examine if the division's work product or underwriting decisions align with our divisional philosophy, guidelines, and procedures. They will be expected to offer observations and suggestions on divisional process improvement.

• Conducts thorough quality assurance reviews for the P&C Underwriting work product and decision-making based on established processes, procedures, general rules, guidelines, and norms.
• Conducts targeted reviews as directed and assists junior analysts with their review efforts.
• Analyzes business practices and procedures of Underwriting Services through quality reviews and provides recommendations on actions for improvement.
• Leads portions of the annual outside auditor review, responding to auditor requests for information to determine QA adherence to financially significant Sarbanes=Oxley anti-fraud law
(SOX) controls.
• Ensures all quality assurance processes meet the requirements of the applicable SOX control.
• Develops regular and ad hoc reports outlining quality assurance efforts, observations, and associated training.
• Remains current on insurance knowledge and changes in programs, policies, procedures, and product offerings.
• Works closely with the entire QA team to ensure consistency in how observations are assigned.
Assists and mentors junior examiners.
• Participates in developing the new year's QA and targeted QA reviews, collaborating with people leaders in P&C Underwriting and training for their contributions and feedback.
• Completes other assignments as needed to contribute to our role within the P&C Underwriting division.

• Bachelor's degree.
o Two years of experience as a personal or commercial lines associate underwriter, underwriting assistant or underwriter or one year of experience as a P&C underwriting quality assurance analyst I.

Salary for this position can range from $60,401 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $90,602 for more highly qualified candidates. Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill and education.
