Western National is seeking a SR Business Analyst to join our Claims team as we continue to support our growing Claims Management tool, Navigator (Guidewire). This exciting opportunity will allow a candidate with the right skills to have a meaningful impact on our Claims Departments continued growth with specific technical tools.

 

This role will work within an agile environment working closely with the Business Users and Developers to deliver strong requirements to help further multiple aspects of this new tool.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with technical and subject matter experts to understand workflow in order to design, develop, and implement solutions that optimize Claims business processes.
  • Maintains, monitors, manages and configures existing systems, projects and processes.
  • Elicits and documents business requirements within current department.
  • Gathers input and makes recommendations to solve problems of moderate complexity.
  • Regular contact with internal and external customers.
  • Regular contact with outside vendors.
  • Evaluate test plans to be used in system/integration and user acceptance testing to meet quality objectives.
  • Document current and new processes, including requirement gathering processes.
  • Be able to act as Subject Matter Expert for variety aspects of current projects.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in gathering requirements and supporting computer systems or similar projects.
  • Previous Insurance experience with focus on Claims is strongly preferred.
  • Past experience recommending solutions to business problems and ability to communicate this both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to read/understand simple SQL and XML.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles and methodologies including agile delivery models, Scrum methodology.
  • Moderate experience with Confluence and JIRA preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field preferred; or equivalent work experience.
