Director of Trucking Claims

About the Role

Be part of an insuretech that brings telematics, software, and data together with commercial trucking insurance. Well-funded by leading logistics and mobility-focused venture capital firms and strategic investors. As the Director of Claims you will build a world-class claims team that specializes in investigating and resolving all levels of claims that result from transportation.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational development and leadership to claims group
• Closely manage and direct all aspects of the TPA’s claims handling
• Build a best in class internal end to end claims handling capability to transition claims handing in-house
• Structure, hire, train, and manage initial claims team members and continue to build and lead the team
• Oversee the implementation of claims handling and related systems
• Build a robust national defense counsel panel with a focus on transportation litigation expertise
• Formulate a consistent, accurate claim reserving and reporting process
• Develop and integrate a rapid response 24/7 critical claims process

Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 7+ years of commercial-long haul transportation claims experience, specifically with a trucking insurance carrier i.e. Northland and the like
• At least 7 years in a claims organization leadership position
• Strong leadership and management abilities as evidenced by prior experience building and leading teams
• Proven track record of thinking strategically and planning ahead to set and meet growth and performance objectives
• Ability to work in a rapidly evolving high-growth environment
• Ability to effectively present to and speak with all levels of an organization
• Strong customer focus which includes both internal and external customers

Compensation, Benefits, & Perks

$130k to $140k. Target bonus of 30%. Generous benefits, including employee stock options, health, dental, vision, 401k, flexible work environment, and unlimited PTO.
