Job Details

Plymouth Rock Assurance is looking for an experienced General Adjuster/Large Loss Adjuster responsible for investigating, negotiating, evaluating, and settling first party property claims. The individual will handle highly sensitive and complex claims, typically in excess of $100,000 across all coverage features. Regional travel will be required to support the needs of the claim’s organization. You will be part of a fast-moving team, expected to provide excellent customer service and help enhance our process and culture with your insight and experience.   

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:  

  • Conduct thorough field investigations and management of large loss/complex files
  • Utilize claims handling and estimation software to write accurate estimates for customers’ claim settlements
  • The ability to identify and investigate subrogation potential and liability exposures
  • Accurately evaluate and apply policy coverage and adhere to State requirements
  • Set timely and appropriate claim reserves and provide large loss reports to management
  • The skills to effectively negotiate with Public Adjusters, General Contractors, mitigation/restoration vendors and attorneys
  • Handle losses in accordance with quality standards and regulatory compliance
  • Meet targets for service, accuracy, productivity and expense management
  • Provide expert customer service
  • Maintain proactive communications and set reasonable expectations with customers
  • Appropriately represent the company by executing a high level of service and maintaining professionalism at all times
  • Regional travel to loss sites and perform inspections/re-inspections of the premises

Qualifications/Education:  

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Seven years of homeowners adjusting experience or equivalent
  • Experience handling large losses/fire losses on a regular basis
  • Ability to obtain licensure in applicable states and complete CE credit/classes where necessary
  • Mastery of Xactimate X1 preferred
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of software 
  • Comprehensive understanding of: State specific claims handling compliance regulations; property homeowner policy; and claims processes;
  • Familiarity with water mitigation auditing programs preferred
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with policyholders and outside vendors to ensure that results are meeting our standards and objectives
  • Must possess excellent writing skills 
  • Valid Driver’s License and proficient driving record
