The Opportunity

  • This position will be based in the Itasca, IL office. (In the event that a candidate resides outside of the Chicagoland area, there is no relocation assistance available for this role.  However, a remote work location may be considered.
  • $5K Sign on Bonus
  • Responsible for the investigation, valuation, establishment of exposure, negotiation and settlement of the most complex property and casualty claims within a predetermined settlement authority. Ensures that all assigned claims are concluded promptly, equitably and economically within the provisions of the policy contract and in accordance with the policy.

The Work Itself

  • Primarily handles claims with a high complexity and large severity.  Conducts independent investigations of Fire and Theft auto claims with a focus on financial crimes involving automobile dealer sales utilizing sound investigative procedures.
  • Completes coverage evaluations, negotiates settlements, prepares settlement documents, and reservation of rights letter and/or non-waiver agreement and maintain a complete and thoroughly documented claim file ensuring claim files are properly documented and all supporting documents are attached.
  • Identify subrogation and/or salvage situations in a timely manner to protect the interests of the Corporation and request documents needed to process titles and salvage of vehicles.
  • Handles all claims within the guidelines of the state’s Fair Claims Practices Acts and other Regulations while also ensuring timeliness and KPIs are being met.
  • Maintain necessary licensing and continuing education.

The Skills You Bring

  • HS diploma or equivalent required. Associate / Bachelor's degree in business related discipline preferred.  3+ years of Property and Casualty experience required, education may be used as a proxy for experience.
  • The ability to take detail statements and demonstrate the ability to interpret and apply written coverage accurately to establish claim and determine an action plan, and often requires assistance on more complex files
  • Prior experience as an Auto Liability Claims Adjuster  or experienced with Fire, Theft and Total Loss investigations preferred.
