The Assistant Vice President Homeowners Underwriting will work as an integral part of the Company management team by contributing to the strategy and achievement of business results.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Translates segment appetite for target market into team direction and practices responsible for growth, retention, and profitability
• Monitors and manages performance measurements to ensure effectiveness of the underwriting results
• Communicates direction, operational decisions, and underwriting perspective to underwriting team and all internal and external partners
• Identifies and addresses opportunities and gaps in current underwriting programs that may lead to product performance shortfalls
• As a member of the management team, provides input into strategic direction setting of the company
• Drives accountability and ownership of group results to the Underwriters

Skills & Experience

• 10 or more years of experience in residential property/homeowners underwriting with 3 or more years in management
• Strong influencing and communication skills with ability to engage senior management
• Superior knowledge of personal lines insurance products (property and umbrella with auto a plus), state regulations, underwriting philosophies, procedures, and best practices
• Strong analytical skills and expert Excel skills

Compensation

$120,000 to $135,000
