SUMMARY: CAMICO’s Account Executive for Direct Sales must be: Self-directed, goal-oriented, organized and able to plan activities needed to obtain/support growth within the assigned territory. Efficient at time management and possess a strong ability to problem solve. Must have experience with account/product management, quality assurance and client relationship management. Ability to understand, implement and monitor all phases of insurance/sales cycle (market/quote/bind) including submissions, proposals and coverage comparisons.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contact prospects, pre-qualify, communicate program features/benefits and successfully close the sale. This includes face-to-face contact for presentations to prospects. Develop and maintain accurate database of prospects in assigned territory, including account status and documentation of sales-related activities including initiating and follow-up contact.
  • Demonstrate a through understanding of insurance, particularly Professional Liability claims-made insurance, Employment Practices Liability, Cyber Liability, Business Owners and Worker’s Comp; be able to effectively communicate the CAMICO program to prospects, identify key benefits to the individual prospect. Understanding of the CPA profession, its inherent liability risks and evolving trends a plus.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of CAMICO products and coverage forms, Loss Prevention programs, and claims handling philosophy. Provide feedback to management on customer input regarding the products and market intelligence (competition) as it relates to CAMICO and the products we provide.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills in presenting information both externally & internally. Display product knowledge, listening skills, ability to handle rejection, computer proficiency and commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Work in a team environment providing support, assistance & back-up to other department staff members as needed.
  • Represent CAMICO with prospects, policyholders and professional groups as required. This may include tradeshows and other business-related events that require  nationwide travel.
  • Work closely with other functional areas, particularly Underwriting and Marketing to ensure high levels of customer service.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 2 years proven Professional Liability insurance sales experience required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plain and solid Algebra. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Requires that the individual has and maintains a property and casualty insurance license in their home state and in other states as needed.
