Job Summary:

The Senior Scrum Manager will lead the agile team and development partners through the software development life cycle process. This would include Agile Scrum-based Software development, Hybrid Agile based development along with cross functional communication, software technical project management, requirements traceability, source code control, test case management and defect tracking. This position may define the metrics to be used to track process improvement in Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Tracks the progress of stories throughout the Sprint and release
  • Negotiates scope changes with the Product Owner Team based on Sprint results

  • Ensures team is fully functional and productive
  • Deals with people issues
  • Guides team through continual improvement process
  • Shields team from external interferences
  • Removes barriers, escalates issues

  • Ensures that the process is followed, including issuing invitations to daily scrums, sprint reviews, and sprint planning and sprint retrospective
  • Updates the metrics dashboard

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Certified Scrum Master with 2+ years of experience
  • 3 years hands-on software delivery experience in an Agile environment
  • Experience in performing the Scrum Master role for at least 2 years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles and practices
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Clear understanding of Agile concepts such as backlog tracking, burndown metrics, and velocity
  • High level understanding of software architecture and design patterns to provide context to management of projects
  • Working understanding of Insurance
