The Regional Vice President position is in the Large Commercial Group, one of Executive Assurance's specialty units, which is responsible for underwriting Directors and Officers liability, Employment Practices Liability and Fiduciary Liability coverage for public and private companies with revenues greater than $500M for public accounts and greater than $1B for private. Candidate must be a highly-motivated, career-oriented individual who will be a key part of the Commercial team efforts for the Northeast region.

Job Responsibilities

Provide management direction and leadership for the executive assurance operations of Arch in a regionalized structure. In accordance with business standards, helps to carry out organization goals and structure, utilize and assign human and financial resources, establish and maintain sound business practices. Provides ongoing assistance to management in the interpretation, implementation, and achievement of those business goals.

  • Provide direction to achieve business success by executing actions that maximize product line underwriting results and competitive advantages. Follows designed plans and actions that will enhance the units' underwriting results.
  • Helps to manage the matrix between the regional objective and business unit forecast.
  • Provide ongoing management to group to achieve underwriting and line of business goals and the optimal utilization of business unit and supporting staff on a regional platform.
  • Help to direct the utilization of business unit resources by location and market opportunity. Evaluate underwriting, renewals and new business, , market opportunity, and product application.
  • Personally participate in marketplace initiatives through interface with key customers, agents, and brokers.
  • Regularly meet with brokers and agents, industry groups, and insured's to present and represent the business unit's interests.
  • Follows guidelines to ensure that underwriting products and practices are in accordance with appropriate regulatory requirements
Required Skills/Experience

  • Expected experience would be a minimum of 7-10 years of executive assurance insurance industry experience, including a progression of management roles.
  • Required to have experience as a manager at the regional or national level in executive assurance with responsibility for the business region/unit region results.
  • Required to have demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills as evidenced by experience in dealing with brokers, agents, industry groups, and insureds.

  • Incumbent would be expected to have a BS in Finance, Business, Insurance or a related field.
