Underwriting Assistant

ICW Insurance Group is hiring an Underwriting Assistant to support Underwriters within our Sacramento Service Center of Excellence through account management activities. This position exists to provide excellent customer service to the ICW Group clients while ensuring that policies are processed accurately and efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 6 months – 1 year of insurance underwriting experience required.


Supports the Underwriters through account management activities.

  • Directs account management activities.
  • Ensures accuracy and organization of files.
  • Gathers information for new business and renewal set up.
  • Trains co-workers on computer systems and department procedures.

Provides customer service to clients.

  • Serves as the first point of contact for customer inquiries during the account life cycle.
  • Handles correspondence for additional account information.
  • Assists producers via email and phone calls.

Provides administrative support to Underwriting staff.

  • Handles agent and insured phone calls, faxes, and mail.
  • Orders loss runs requested by agents and insureds and sends via fax, email, or mail.
  • Prepares and mails claims kits and marketing materials requested by agents and insureds.
