As the Director, Distribution Northwest, you will be responsible for an average territory size of $170M within multiple states. Manages the development of agency relationships and plant that will drive growth and supporting profit goals for assigned state territories. Provides leadership, guidance and coaching to the Territory Management team.

 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for an average territory size of $170M within multiple states. Manages the development of agency relationships and plant that will drive growth and supporting profit goals for assigned state territories.
  • Provides leadership, guidance and coaching to the Territory Management team responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of insurance products.
  • Accountable for pipeline management through agent/broker relationships and effective marketing programs, enabling the company to reach its financial targets for both written premium and combined operating ratio.
  • Responsible for achieving the key financial targets including profitability index, written premium,loss ratio results, new business and other key metrics for Commercial Insurance policies within specific territories throughout the company.
  • Manages the execution of annual agency plans and overall territory strategy that facilitates profitable premium growth.
  • Develops strategies to ensure effective business relationships with agency plant in order to attract, develop, and retain profitable business and manage agency performance through frequent agency interactions.
  • Motivates and hold agents accountable in order to achieve written premium objectives and profitability goals, reach desired penetration identify growth opportunities and make difficult decisions as necessary.
  • Ensures consistent service which meets or exceeds agent insured needs, and utilizes incentives, promotions and contests in support of business objectives, where appropriate, in order to achieve written premium and mix of business.
  • Appropriately influences operational objectives, as well as quality and timeliness of service by communicating agent issues and expectations.
  • Responsible for resolving escalated large scale agency service or account issues to drive successful issue resolution for customers and agency partners as necessary.
  • Maintains an understanding of the competitive landscape and coordinates
  • resources to make the changes necessary to meet marketing, pricing and customer needs. Maintains local legislative awareness with a strong working knowledge of key and current judicial rulings, legal issues and lobbying efforts. Partners with the Director of State Operations by providing feedback on market trends and influence on strategic direction that facilitates profitable premium growth.
  • Provides direction to the Territory Management group in performing all team functions including development, implementation, and continuous improvement of all Agency Management.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of agency management, marketing, product pricing, underwriting, claims and finance with a primary focus on agency management and marketing.
  • Experience with successfully integrating broad company objectives into team tasks and activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and grow supportive internal relationships.
  • Able to influence the actions and opinions of others in a desired direction, and to exhibit judgment in leading others to worthwhile objectives.
  • Able to work with people in such a manner as to build high morale and group commitments to goals and objectives.
  • Bachelor`s degree in Business or Marketing, or equivalent.
  • Experience: 10+ years of marketing experience in personal lines insurance and/or commercial lines based on company or region mix of business.
