The US Casualty Analytics team within GRS North America Claims Strategic Planning & Analytics is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to provide robust analysis and actionable insights in support of US Casualty Claims operation. In this role the candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with various departments including Claims, Product, Data Strategy, Underwriting and Actuarial.


We are seeking an energetic, driven analyst with creative problem-solving ability who will thrive in a complex data environment. This analyst will be expected to perform research, build & analyze complex datasets, present findings, and recommend changes and/or take actions based on various factors (e.g., data insights, regulatory changes, feedback from quality assurance reviews, market information, etc.) to solve problems and improve business outcomes.  The ideal candidate must also be a strong collaborator and able to foster a strong level of commitment among our key stakeholders including the US Casualty Leadership Team, the Product Team, and our external vendor groups. 


This role works with general direction from manager on more complex tasks. Please note this posting is open to multiple locations. Compensation will vary based on experience, education, and location.


  • Identifies business processes to review, analyzing information to identify trends, patterns, gaps, and insights using descriptive analytics.
  • Manages complex analyses conducted based on operational, economic and/or financial data to measure the performance of the claims handling operation, evaluate potential operational changes and/or provide insights on UW strategy shift impacts. 
  • Curates presentations to senior management regarding findings and recommendations. Often using data visualization tools to further business insights.
  • Fosters an environment in which continuous improvement methodologies are applied to deliver value to customers.
  • Partners with stakeholders on the design, testing, implementation, and evaluation of business process changes to improve business outcomes. Owns implementation and evaluation of business process changes or a portion of an initiative (e.g., major area within a function) with moderate complexity.
  • Builds the business case for making a change to current practices, programs, or procedures.
  • Develops, updates, and analyzes metrics used to determine operational performance, staffing needs, productivity, UW strategy shift impacts, or other measures deemed valuable to the organization. 


  • Displays effective research, problem solving, analytical, critical thinking, influencing, and relationship management.
  • Candidate displays intellectual curiosity, problem-solving skills, and motivation to work towards becoming a thought leader in areas of responsibility
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and can articulate the value of analytical work to key stakeholders
  • Solid knowledge of business operations, procedures, and priorities with a strong ability to support change and impart value within an organization.
  • Knowledge of US Casualty Claims and/or knowledge of actuarial, UW, and finance concepts preferred
  • Advanced to expert level knowledge of data sources, tools, applications, and business drivers.
  • Strong SAS, PowerBI, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Displays sound business acumen and integrated thinking. Competencies typically acquired through a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in addition to 4+ years of relevant experience to include business analysis work.
