Junior Commercial Underwriter

We are a Property & Casualty Managing General Agency writing 130+ million in annual premium seeking a Junior Commercial Underwriter.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review new business applications to confirm the information provided is appropriate to determine what underwriting actions are required to place the risk and when exceptions or opportunities for additional coverages exist
• Providing renewal and new business quotes to agents
• Servicing agents request for coverage changes
• Rating insurance policies
• Corresponding with agents and companies regarding their policies
• Developing underwriting information for existing accounts, e.g.…order and review inspections, MVR’s, etc.

PREFERRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 1-2 years Property & Casualty experience
• Self-directed, energetic and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• High level of computer proficiency
• Friendly, upbeat personality with strong written and oral communication skills
• Inherent desire to embrace change and pursue continuous improvement
• Team player with collaborative attitude
