The global Demand Modeling team has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Director, Data Science that will lead our US personal and business lines demand modeling teams. This leader is responsible for advancing the sophistication of our pricing and product design strategy, and will do so by leading a team of two managers and 10 analysts responsible for using data science to drive understanding of consumer behavior and insurance economics. This role requires strategic leadership and creative thinking, and data science expertise to effectively lead a team of data scientists. This leader will report directly to the VP of Demand Modeling.



  • Provide strategic leadership to US PL and US BL demand modeling teams
  • Guide managers and analysts to advance the sophistication of pricing and product design through use of demand models and understanding of insurance economics
  • In cross-functional settings, provide expertise and strategic guidance based on advanced understanding of consumer behavior, insurance economics, and insurance product design
  • Collaborate with other demand modeling teams to advance our capabilities globally
  • Attract and retain talent; develop team culture


  • Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree or certification in quantitative field highly desired. Prior management experience highly desired
  • Strong data science and analytical skills required. Expert skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software required (e.g., Python)
  • Knowledge of insurance principles, underwriting and ratemaking concepts and the procedures of Underwriting, Distribution, Claims, Information Technology, Legal, and Finance departments
  • High-level knowledge of data sources, tools, and the business (lines, systems, pricing plans)
  • Demonstrated ability to exchange ideas and convey complex information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and build effective relationships within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to give effective presentations to executives and other groups
  • Ability to lead complex projects with no oversight
  • Ability to coach and develop team members
