The Accounting Consultant II performs activities related to special accounting projects, preparation of financial reports and analysis of financial/accounting data.
The position requires daily Financial Information Balancing between our legacy systems. FIB is conducted according to SOX guidelines to ensure company financial information is recorded with integrity. System Administrator of the ABC/CDS legacy systems located within the mainframe. Review of expenses related to General Insurance Expenses. Tax deposits and reconciliations according to the requirements of the associated state/jurisdiction. Accrual calculations, financial analysis projects as requested and general ledger account reconciliations.
This position is a hybrid role, meaning your schedule may consist of time in an office setting and time working remotely from your home. The hybrid model is intended to provide greater flexibility and will mean something different to each team, job and employee. Office presence is driven by the nature of the work and team needs. Youll work from home for the remainder of the time youre not in the office. This position is eligible for a monthly connectivity reimbursement to offset the costs of internet and phone expenses.Key Responsibilities
- Financial Information Balancing - Daily balancing of the interface to the corporate ledger system SAP. Maintain interface translators, and administration of ABC/CDS accounting legacy systems
- Accurately report and deposit state tax withholding
- General Insurance Expense analysis identify extraordinary expenses, variances, trends and run rates. accrual calculations for direct expenses, journal vouchers, intercompany activity, general ledger account Reconciliations, Supports any ad-hoc analysis and life claim activity
- Builds and maintains strong working relationships with business partners. Provides problem resolution when applicable.
- Uses accounting principles and understands the concepts, rules, and terminology to the science of accounting.
- Identifies, develops, and applies ideas and approaches to complicated issues, solving problems and accomplishing goals
- This position does require some cross-functional responsibility
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 or more years of related experience
- Strong experience in general ledger account reconciliations
- SAP Experience
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Office, Strong Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrated problem solving ability
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Well organized and possess excellent use of time management
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent presentation skills
