About the Role

The Senior Commercial Insurance Marketer is a newly created role for a large insurance broker that’s redefining the ideology, integration, & impact the marketing team has on sales and client retention in the Mid-Atlantic region. Notably, they see marketing as an extension of the large account consulting practice. You sit at the intersection of supporting internal sales & service teams as well as directly engaging with clients. They want an entrepreneurial spirit and a solutions-driven approach from an insurance professional experienced with large account pricing, plan design, and placement. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Spearhead new business marketing efforts on large account program structures for sales teams spread throughout North Carolina. 
  • Evaluate claims data, pricing trends, and coverage enhancements to compose the best possible, most comprehensive insurance program for clients.
  • Set timelines on taking opportunities to market. Manage the quoting process. Keep all lines of communication open with the sales team on anticipated negotiations with underwriters as well as creative solutions for difficult, complex, and hard-to-place risks.
  • Support producers and client service staff with understanding and navigating the placement process. Help them grow in their knowledge of market trends, rates, placement, and underwriting negotiations. Participate in meetings and presentations with new and existing clients to talk through the marketplace, analyze coverage options, and select the most suitable insurance programs.

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of commercial insurance program structures, placement strategies, resource identification, and technical coverage issues.
  • At least 7-8 years of Commercial P&C insurance experience. Backgrounds that will be considered include:
    • Similar experience with a retail agency broker in a centralized marketing/placement role.
    • Commercial Insurance Account Executive at a retail insurance agency.
    • Production Underwriter or Wholesale Broker with a focus on large, complex property programs.


$115k-$125k compensation depending on experience. Annual bonus opportunity available.
