Job Description Summary

Use your health and safety knowledge and your risk management skills to help prevent losses! Are you a lifelong learner who enjoys staying on the cutting edge of new technologies and trends? Are you fascinated by how things are made ... and how they fall apart?

If this sounds like you, then you may have a future in Risk Control at Travelers. We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Risk Control Associate to join our team based in Ireland on a 2 year trainee programme.

In this role you will be given the opportunity to;

  • Visit customers and learn how to assess risk exposures and controls, make recommendations for improvements and present your opinions of risk to underwriters.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of different businesses and operations and how they compare to industry best practices
  • Obtain relevant information from clients whilst building effective rapport
  • Develop your technical knowledge of property, health and safety and other risk related exposures, including regulations and technical standards.

We are not looking for someone with any prior Risk Control or Insurance experience, but for someone who has an enquiring mind, who is observant and wants to put those skills to the test in a working environment.

You will have;

During this 2 year opportunity you will gain experience in;

  • The role of  Risk Control and understanding  its importance in the insurance industry
  • Conducting Risk Control assessments, producing technically accurate reports and presenting your opinions of risk quality
  • Insurance fundamentals, products and services
  • Evaluating the suitability and effectiveness of relevant risk related  documentation
  • Carrying out trend analysis in terms of exposures and  losses.
