Job Summary

OurAccounting Manager is responsible for managing 3 unique teams in Corporate Accounting:

(1) Enterprise Processes team which is responsible for the accounting related to capital transactions (long-term debt, shareholder dividends, treasury stock activity) intercompany capital and financing transactions, intercompany settlements and intercompany reinsurance, and account reconciliations (mini COE).

(2) Benefits Accounting team which is responsible for the equity compensation plans including annual proxy report, management of equity compensation plan participant data, accounting, reporting and other operational control processes for employee health and welfare plans, Allstate 401(k) plan and other post retirement benefits.

(3) Governance and Control team which is responsible for Coordinating the SOX program for Corporate Accounting including maintaining control documentation, performing required assessments, reporting control findings and remediation plans, supporting control owners, managing Financial Information balancing (FIB), serving as AOR Compliance Leader for FSS, and Business Continuity for AOR.

In addition, the role will be responsible for SOX Optimization, Implementing Blackline(new account reconciliation tool and Governance), and partnering on the SAP transformation.

This position can be filled as a work from home role within the United States or a hybrid role working from in our IL office (once we return to the office).

  • Plan, implementand managemultiple large-scale projects
  • Identify critical strategic opportunities and creates action plans based upon these strategies
  • Motivate, leadand developothers
  • Predicts Insurance Industry trends and how it may affect the unit/division work processes

Preferred Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience. Degree in Accounting.
  • CPA preferred
  • 7 or more years of related experience

Functional Skills

  • SAP experience preferred
  • Solid knowledge of Accounting/Financial/technical processes.
  • Can implement the process used to create a vision and develop a mission statement, which aligns to our Enterprise vision and mission statements.
  • Strong data analytics background
  • Experience with process deisgn and re-engineering processes
  • Has the ability to help others to clarify issues and discover possibilities for resolution.
  • Understands the financial perspective of today's challenging insurance environment in order to become more effective.
  • Advanced in-depth knowledge of multiple areas of expertise.
  • Sought out by peers as an expert and technical resource on projects and issues.

Compensation Data

Compensation range for this position is $91,800 - $135,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
