General Description:

The Systems Administrator primarily responsible for organizing, modifying, and supporting Universal’s computer and server systems. Installs, and maintains Universal’s server and storage infrastructure, network LAN/WAN installs, Internet and intranet systems, IOT/Mobile device, telephony, video conference services and application support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Deploys, documents and cross trains on new servers, networks and storage systems.

Supports LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.

Maintains and monitors overall system health, efficiency, and security.

Maintains backup systems and understands business continuity.

Troubleshoots problems reported by users.

Knowledge of security policies and practices.   Every decision and action consider the security risk and implications.

Ability to analyzes and isolate issues. 

Monitors environment to ensure security and availability to specific users.

Maintains active directory and office 365.

Understanding and ability to use cloud services to include, but not limited to Azure and AWS.

Working knowledge of virtualization and hyper-converged technologies.

Ability to explain and document technical concepts to inexperienced users.

Understands and utilizes scripting to enhance and maintain the environment.

Performs other duties as required.

Education and / or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum 8+ years’ work experience & minimum of 5+ years in a similar role.

Telephony experience preferred.

Must be a team player.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong oral / written communication skills, and able to deal effectively with personnel from all levels of organization.

Licenses and / or Certifications:

IT certifications and / or licenses are desired.
