Job Description Summary

Provides expert operational and business test support for computer systems used internally and externally. Responsible for the development and implementation of the system test plan(s) adhering to established procedures. Manages the effective use of resources to implement assigned projects. Understands the escalation process for approval of the test plan/calendar and for communicating testing discrepancies. Assist team members as needed.
The position will have primary responsibilities of providing expert business test support including automation of scripts, intake oversight and following Agile methodologies for Underwriting Rules. With potential opportunity of shadowing rule author.

This position may be based 100% remotely or in one of our offices.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand Project Management fundamentals.

  • Gain business knowledge across line of businesses.

  • Develop and implement project Quality Assurance Plans.

  • Train and mentor on QA processes.

  • Lead process improvement initiatives.

  • Partnering closely with the Rules Architects/Analysts

  • Interpreting and analyzing Rules requirements as provided by the business

  • Estimating work effort related to testing, development and implementation of test suite including automation.

  • Triage management of defects and intake tool,  and root cause analysis skills. 

  • Ensuring customer satisfaction through professional communication, follow-up, and responsiveness to issues.

  • Actively seeks opportunities to expand analytical and business knowledge. 

  • Develop leadership skills while learning how work assignments address business issues.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to lower level technical employees.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of Technology or Business Testing experience required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge

  • Bachelors Degree in Technology or a related field preferred.

  • Four years of Technology, Business Testing, or Quality Assurance experience preferred.

  • JavaScript & GIT experience required.
  • Experience & exposure to any of these area plus: MongoDB, SharePoint online, power apps and advanced Excel knowledge.

Job Specific Technical Skills & Competencies

Technical Knowledge:

  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of business applications and processes.

  • Has an expert knowledge of the systems interfaces with the business operations work-flow, and a solid understanding of the corporate and departmental information system strategies.

  • Proficient in the use of workstation applications related to the testing function.

  • JavaScript & GIT experience required

  • Experience and Exposure to any of these are a plus: MongoDB, SharePoint online, power apps and advanced excel knowledge

  • Where appropriate maintains a thorough knowledge of business trends.

  • Works effectively to communicate with the immediate team, systems staff, other business units, service offices, agents, and customers, through a collaborative style.

  • Designs and tests systems, and/or system changes to insure system efficiency, integrity, productivity, and maintainability.

  • Able to coordinate testing activities with other teams within ISD and business unit.

  • Has latitude for setting priorities and making decisions by using the general guidelines established by management.

  • Provides management with necessary time reporting information as required.

  • Completes multiple tasks in time allocated.

  • Designs and tests systems and/or system changes accurately to maintain and/or reduce operating costs for the company.

  • Analyzes business trends, when appropriate, to enable the company to operate in a cost effective manner.
