Support Center Supervisor

Merchants Insurance Group, is a leading Property and Casualty Insurer in the Northeast, and is looking for an experienced Support Center Supervisor for our Corporate Services team to join our Corporate Headquarters located in Buffalo, New York. The candidate selected for this position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home in a designated work area until such time as it is determined that colleagues will return to the office.

The Support Center Supervisor will become part of a dedicated Corporate Services team focusing on managing the overall activities of the Support Center, which includes both Underwriting and Claims activities. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Supervise the day-to-day activities of the Support Center technicians who process a wide variety of underwriting and claims transactions.
• Ensures compliance with all state regulations and statutes and company guidelines related to all transactions processed by the Support Center staff.
• Leads all automation projects for ImageRight and testing efforts.
• Responsible for training of staff on all aspects of ImageRight functionality and workflows.
• Develops, implements and manages policies, procedures and controls for the Support Center to ensure proper regulatory compliance, service standards and quality control.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Qualified candidates will have a 4 year degree or equivalent work related experience.
• 3 plus years Commercial Lines Underwriting experience and Claims processing knowledge.
• Previous supervisory experience is required.
• Workflow Management Systems experience, preferably ImageRight.
• Ability to mentor and motivate direct reports.
• Solid understanding of underwriting regulatory compliance requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior experience with Microsoft Office.
