Job Summary

Allstate's Claims Innovation and Enablement is seeking a motivated, self-starting individual with a background in research and communication to fulfill the responsibilities of a Senior Research and Development Consultant with our Claims department. The applicant should possess a strong desire to conduct research that brings the latest industry-trends and technologies, innovative capabilities, competitive intelligence and customer insights inside the walls of Allstate. The individual will also be responsible for coordinating outside consortiums/think tank activity with internal stakeholders and act as a liaison to market research groups that deliver competitive intelligence and other insights. The applicant may be asked to attend industry conferences and represent Allstate in relevant trade discussions. The candidate will be tasked with summarizing all relevant research, testing, and recommendations for key stakeholder and executive leadership consumption.

Key Responsibilities

Research and Development

  • Fulfills research requests from various sources regarding claims and insurance related developments, companies of interest, emerging trends and technologies, I&E content, competitive intelligence, and customer insights
  • Develops in-depth analysis based on research
  • Delivers recommendations based on research and analysis
  • Defines and develops detailed business use cases
  • Develops high-level CBAs
  • Summarizes content from industry conferences for Allstate leader consumption
  • Owns external relationships with industry consortiums / think tanks leveraging them to help inform Allstate strategy
  • Collaborates with Strategic Partnerships team to vet and facilitate initial relationships with prospective strategic partners
  • Informs I&E roadmap development through research, analysis, and recommendations
  • Designs Test and Learn proposals and collaborates as necessary with the Test and Learn team in order to support IDE strategy, roadmap, and goals
  • Collaborates with Platform Leaders to develop business cases for recommended capabilities, intended for presentation to the IDE Operating Board

  • Manages multiple work assignments with limited guidance provided

  • Administers company Human Resources policies

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience

  • Communication and/or research experience is preferred
  • Claims experience is a plus
  • Bachelors degree with an emphasis in Journalism and/or Communicationspreferred
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to interact effectively, and coach others on interacting effectively, with internal or external customers and act with empathy
  • Applies advanced skills related to research and analysis
  • Applies working knowledge of insurance policy, coverage, and regulation
  • Applies advanced industry knowledge to discipline practices, including best practices, to support the business unit

Compensation Data

Compensation range for this position is $75,900 - $125,000per year, based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
