Job Family Summary

Allstate Internal Audit (Allstate IA) serves Allstate and its stakeholders by providing objective, independent assurance to the organization. Our mission is to help the organization meet its strategic, financial, operation and compliance objectives. Our internal audit teams apply their knowledge, insights and objectivity to help the organization mitigate risk by evaluating the design and effectiveness of controls embedded in strategy, governance, operations and risk management processes.

Job Summary

Auditors will start in a fast-paced developmental program consisting of job assignments supporting the various Internal Audit teams (Property/Casualty, Life, Investments, Finance, IT, and SOX) and an opportunity to work with our external auditors. Senior Staff Auditors (B2) will be responsible for leading non-complex and regulatory audits with moderate leadership oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • The individual may be responsible for or involved with:
    1. Audit planning and execution, including risk assessment, process analysis, and control evaluation.
    2. Coordinating the work of other project members on leadership assignments.
    3. Providing support to our external auditors.
    4. Partnering with Management in support of key initiatives and projects.
    5. Leading non-complex audit engagements.

    Travel requirements are minimal (15%).


The skills required are:
1. Ability to work independently as well as in a strong team environment.
2. Able to set project timeframes for self and team members to meet project objectives with minimal oversight.
3. Intermediate project management skills.
4. Basic understanding of audit theory and application.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
6. Flexibility, adaptability and comfort in dealing with the unknown.
7. Understanding of fundamental IT concepts.
8. Strong relationship building skills.
9. Basic critical thinking and problem solving skills around business issues.
10. Proficiency in business-related computing applications (e.g., Microsoft Office applications).

Qualifications include:
1. Minimum of six months as Staff Auditor in Allstate Internal Audit and/or 2+ years of experience within any of the following areas: Accounting, Banking, Financial Services, Finance, Insurance, or Internal Audit a plus.
2. Minor in Management Information Systems (MIS) or Information Technology a plus.

Education Required:
1. College degree required - major preference of Accounting, Finance, or Information Technology.
2. CPA, CISA or CIA certification a plus.

Compensation Data

Compensation range for this position is $60,000- $70,000per year, based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
