Claims Specialist 1

Position Summary

Adjuster will investigate, evaluate and resolve claims with moderate supervision. Position requires the ability to evaluate the
Company’s exposure and decide the appropriate course of action to best protect and prevent undue loss, mitigate associated
costs, provide reserve and settlement recommendations. Adjuster will primarily handle property, E-com, auto and cargo claims
but may be asked to assist with other types of claims.

Job Duties/Essential Functions

● Adjusts and oversees thorough and impartial investigations while working with outside vendors and insurance carriers.
● Communicates (verbally/written) effectively with all levels of management.
● Ability to work independently.
● Negotiates with members/vendors on a professional level at all times.
● Ensures claim documentation is accurate, organized and properly maintained.
● Submits thorough and accurate reports as necessary.
● Provides superior service while presenting claim updates to our warehouses, depots and management.
● Able to interpret and apply insurance policy.
● On call 24/7 for emergency property issues.
● Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location.
Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.
● Computer, phone, printer, copier, fax

Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications
Required:
● Knowledge of warehouse accounting policies and practices - including SAP, accounting system, and IMM.
● Analytical skill necessary to make decisions and resolve complex issues inherent in handling losses.
● In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations.
● Superior verbal and written communication skills.
● Excellent evaluation and analytical skills, including ability to recognize new or changing information that could affect the
claims handling strategy and/or potential claims cost.
● Claims experience.
● Knowledge of Google suite.
● Ability to keyboard 30 wpm.
 

Recommended:
● Insurance experience desired, but not required; training will be provided.
● Supervisory experience is beneficial.
● Ability to assess actual damages associated with claims and successfully bring to resolution.
● Ability to read and understand legal documents.
● Knowledge of construction and warehouse/depot equipment.
