Under the direction of the Vice President of Claims, the Property Claims Manager is primarily responsible for the oversight and management of the property claims department, as well as assisting supervising and directing the activities of the property claims adjusters. The position also works closely with management to manage claims reserves and assists with the reinsurance process.

Essential Functions        

  • Direct and oversee the day-to-day activities of property claims adjusters
  • Assist adjusters in evaluating and negotiating property claims including during Catastrophe situations
  • Proactively manage cases in an organized fashion
  • Cooperate with Claims Attorney to manage litigation
  • Perform file audits and provide feedback to adjusters
  • Assist with reinsurance process

Job Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Seven to ten years of claims management experience
  • Must demonstrate extensive knowledge of the claims process
  • Experience handling litigation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage a team
  • Knowledge of reinsurance
  • Able to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Time management-able to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Experience with Exactimate
  • Flexibility to travel when necessary

  • Experience with ImageRight
