General Description:

This individual will support all our current and future states in all product lines of insurance by performing rate reviews, preparation of rate filings, performing actuarial studies as assigned, and responding to inquiries from regulatory departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists in preparation of various actuarial analyses and projects, including but not limited to quarterly rate adequacy reviews, and state rate filings. 

Prepares rate filings for current states and lines of insurance and expansion initiatives.

Assists in preparation of rules and rate manuals.

Assists in competitor analysis for rating plans, rates, products and forms.

Interacts as needed with relevant regulatory authorities on filings.

Assembles data in support of actuarial, product, and underwriting initiatives.

Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in related field.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Access and Excel

SQL experience highly desirable.

Power BI experience a plus.

Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Word.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Effective presentation skills.

Work extremely well independently.

Must possess strong work ethic and be a “team player”.

Possess a natural curiosity about actuarial indications and the underlying data driving changes.

Licenses and / or Certifications:

Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams with on-going commitment toward membership in CAS.
