Liberty Global Transaction Solutions' Mergers & Acquisitions team is looking to further expand its U.S. presence. This M&A underwriter role provides a rare opportunity to develop your career as part of a market-leading, dedicated team of underwriting professionals. We are looking for an intelligent and enthusiastic candidate to be a key member of the U.S. M&A team and undertake a meaningful role in expanding our R&W business, including building relationships with clients, brokers and law firms.
Global Transaction Solutions' Mergers & Acquisitions is proud of its reputation for training and developing staff and as such, this role offers great potential for an individual with a strong legal or M&A background interested in establishing or further developing expertise in this exciting and growing sector of the insurance market. The successful candidate will attend to the following responsibilities:
- Conduct business and legal review of public and private M&A deals, including analysis of risk, reviewing transaction documents, disclosure process, diligence reports and discussions with the deal team as part of underwriting transactional risk insurance products.
- Assess insurability of risk and negotiate and draft policies for insured risks.
- Cultivate and form relationships with M&A production and distribution sources, with focus on brokers, law firms, private equity firms, investment banks, and accounting firms.
- Future travel within the region for client visits, with periodic travel to New York and occasional international travel, will be required.
Bachelor's or advanced degree or equivalent; 15+ years underwriting experience. Requires advanced knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures. At least 10 years experience underwriting highly technical risks. Exceptional strategic and marketing capabilities. Exceptional ability to effectively interact with brokers and internal departments in relationship-building/maintenance. Superior verbal and written communications skills. Highest level of negotiation, analytical, and decision making skills are also required.
