SUMMARY

The Program Manager is responsible for supervising a wide range of programs (collections of related projects) including the delivery, overall success, and analysis of each program. The Program Development team is responsible for engaging stakeholders in each business unit while initiating, planning, and defining new programs and projects. The Program Manager must be inquisitive and analytical while possessing a strategic mindset and a strong planning skill set. The goal of the Program Manager is to ensure every program assigned to them will be delivered successfully and add the highest possible value to the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work with the Program Development manager to plan the programs from start to implementation kickoff involving deadlines, milestones, and processes
  • Provide deliverables (Project Study and Business Case) on applicable projects
  • Discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people
  • Identify/Manage Process Improvements to new/existing framework (including but not limited to working/reporting on/tracking of programs)
  • Apply change, risk and resource management principles when needed
  • Read reports prepared by managers to determine progress and issues
  • Ensure program operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies
  • Keep senior management informed with detailed and accurate reports, presentations, and/or site updates

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Thorough knowledge of Agile methodologies and techniques
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance operations and sound decision-making skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS office and program management software (e.g. MS Project etc.)
  • A business acumen with a strategic ability
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • An analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency/Expertise in PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel, Word, SharePoint, Power Automate, Forms, Sway
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work on tasks with competing priorities.

Other Experience

  • Experience working in dynamic and fluid organizations within a small team environment a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and a self-starter attitude necessary.
  • Strong desire to work on smaller team with an entrepreneurial experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Interpersonal skills to develop relationship within the system to enhance the appropriate flow of information.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

College Degree or 3 - 5 years insurance industry related experience.
