Commercial Lines Claims Manager

About the Role

Commercial Lines Claims Manager is an immediate job opening with an independent insurance agency headquartered in downtown Chicago. You will be the ‘go-to’ liaison for claims activity for commercial property and casualty clients. Here are a few talking points on the position.

1. When claims occur, you gather information and file a claims report.
2. You double check all the details in their policy and their claims report for accuracy.
3. You follow up on open cases, answer client questions and provide general advice on the claims process, anticipated timing and potential resolution.
4. You will be involved with different lines of insurance including Commercial General Liability, property, auto and work comp.

Skills & Experience

• At least 5 years of commercial insurance claims handling experience
• Multi-line coverage experience is required (GL, property, auto, etc.)
• Excellent communication & customer service skills
• Highly organized with great attention to detail

Job Specs

Location: downtown Chicago (though currently the agency is working remotely due to COVID)
Compensation: $75k-$90k depending on experience
Department Size: You are a department of one. The claims activity is manageable and feels administrative most of the time. For complex claims, you will work internally with other agency leaders to help resolve issues directly with the insurance company. Because this is a retail agency position there is no direct claims adjusting responsibilities.
