Position Summary:

The duties of the position include:

Teaching a 3-3 course load, all in Risk Management and Insurance (RMI);

Research in RMI, actuarial science, or a related area in peer-reviewed journals consistent with School of Business requirements for Scholarly Academics; and

Service in support of the RMI Program through activities.

We seek someone who specializes in liability RMI. We offer the opportunity to teach at the undergraduate level in our RMI major and minor, and in our MBA course on Enterprise Risk Management. We offer the opportunity to help teach faculty-led study abroad classes to Bermuda and to London, England, during non-COVID times. Experience teaching face-to-face as well as online and in hybrid classes is desirable.

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned Doctorate degree in Risk Management and Insurance, or a JD, or an LLM, or a terminal degree in a closely related field from an accredited university is required (an ABD will be considered, with a requirement to complete the degree within one year of appointment). Relevant credentials (e.g. CPCU, other professional licenses and designations) are welcome but not essential. The successful candidate will present evidence of teaching and research effectiveness. Experience working in risk management/insurance is desired but not required.
