Duties & Responsibilities

As the Director of Field Sales & Marketing, your primary responsibility is driving profitable growth through sales strategy and business development initiatives. This requires you to manage a field sales team that is laser focused on executing sales and new business production in the independent agency channel.

Sales & Marketing Leadership

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as IT, customer service and digital marketing
  • Along with your sales team, identify prospects, negotiate & appoint new agencies
  • Manage independent agency distribution channel by creating & monitoring agency plans and results
  • Identify business development & cross-selling opportunities involving multiple business unites, states & regions to maximize market penetration
  • Prioritize marketing activities through digital marketing and trade/association participation
  • Manage efforts to acquire key retail agents and grow premium with existing partners
  • Achieve new business sales goals; lead efforts to prospect, sell and close relationships with affinity & carrier partners
  • Hire, train and develop regional sales specialists. Work closely with associates in the field to observe/assess individual performance. Feedback on sales activity & opportunities to improve team success.

Skills & Experience

  • At least 7-8 years of insurance industry success in strategic sales development; minimum of three (3) years in personal lines auto sales management
  • Results driven leader who can build & motivate a team, think strategically about market expansion, focus on distribution and plan, organize & execute sales strategies
