Senior Insurance Risk Consultant

About the Role

This New York based insurance agency has an exciting job opening for an experienced risk management professional. The Senior Insurance Risk Consultant is an essential job within the Risk Management Department. You are responsible for providing clients with critical information that will make their operations safer. Additionally, you are a liaison with the internal sales & service teams, so they remain informed with the most up-to-date information regarding clients.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate, conduct and manage all aspects of on-site Risk Management/Assessments/Surveys for insurance agency clients
• Review and analyze account exposures. Communicate findings in conjunction with the Director of Risk Management, Claims Advocate and Account Manager
• Follow up on the implementation of safety recommendations 
• Advise clients on best practices in risk mitigation and safety management strategies
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, Producers, Account Managers and Claim Advocates
• Participate in client stewardship meetings and promote the agency’s services to prospective and existing clients

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree is required
• Completion (or progress towards) relevant insurance and safety designations such as ARM, CBCP, CIH, CSP is highly desired
• Minimum of 5-7 years of Loss Control, Safety and Risk Management experience with an insurance company, insurance agency or Loss Control Services Organization; experience must include the assessment & identification of workplace and third-party risk exposures
• If not currently held, certification as Consultant/Specialist for NYS Code Rules 59 & 60 must be obtained within the first 12 months of employment
• This position may require up to 50% travel (including 20% overnight travel)

Compensation

$120k-$125k target salary depending on experience
